The Run begins Downtown on Sunday, Sept. 22 on Main St. and 3rd Ave. with the Tiny Tim Center 5K Family run/walk beginning at 8 a.m., followed by a parade of the Fireball Run teams as they start their journey to Riverside, CA.  Live music by 10,000 RPMS on 5th Ave. and Coffman St. Proceeds of the run/walk will benefit The Tiny Tim Center. The run is open to the public and you can register online at www.tinytimcenter.weebly.com.
Fireball Run is an emotional, eight day, 2500 mile, life-sized trivia game where America serves as the game board.  40 driving teams will participate in the event (including a Longmont team).  At each of the eight destinations on their way to the finale in Riverside, California, the teams will solve clues and complete tasks based on each host city. Each team is assigned a missing child from their hometown region and they will distribute posters and bring awareness to each child’s case along the route. To date, Fireball Run has aided in the recovery of 32 missing children. Fireball Run will be streamed live to a world audience and filmed as part of an online TV series. The live-event opening for the series will take place on September 21st at Longmont’s Roosevelt Park, in conjunction with Longmont’s Oktoberfest celebration.
The Visit Longmont team of Sean Owens, owner of the Dickens Tavern and Opera House, and Frank Oliver, owner of Oliver Financial Group, will represent Longmont in the race.
